Patricia Elizabeth
Kingston Libary
A monthly discussion group centered around examination of
spiritual
traditions from around the world and how they might help us to
infuse
our care-giving with more presence and compassion. This ongoing,
open
group will be moderated by Grant Abrams, PT and is meant for
health care
workers, professionals, those who work with the sick and/or
elderly, or
those who wish to work with their own issues in facing death and
dying.
We will look at the work of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Ram Dass,
Steven
Levine, Joan Halifax, E.J. Gold, Sogyal Rinpoche, Ira Byock and
many
others. We will also learn experiential techniques and exercises
from
the above authors.
In addition and as one of the major features of the group,
we will
invite guest lecturers from different spiritual traditions to
speak
about end of life care. This non-denominational, open discussion
group
will start at Kingston Library, April 19th at 4pm, admission is
free.
